About The Author

Cachito Aponte is the name of Puerto Rican author, born in Barceloneta and raised in the town of Manati as well as Santurce and Brooklyn, N.Y. His first novel El Capataz is a captivating love story, born amongst the delightful aromas of a coffee plantation in Ciales, a beautiful and scenic town in the center of the Puerto Rican Cordillera. There, Don Angel Luis Santiago cultivates the richest and most delightful coffee on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. However, he is unaware that amongst the coffee bean aromas, a love story has developed between his only son Sixto and Maria, the daughter of his Capataz.
Twin brothers Adrian and Fabian are the fruit of that unforbidden love. Two souls, that although shared the same womb at inception, are now separated by the social, racial and the hatefulness they feel for one another. The deep hate they feel for one another will make them face each other in a duel of good against evil, truth and lies, hate and love and in which only one of them will come out victorious. In El Capataz, Cachito narrates a truly captivating love story in the regional confines of the tropical island of Puerto Rico. The reader will also find real life historic events and a window will open to a heartwarming tale in the middle of its political makeup and cultural history.
