Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Carmeline Pusateri’s life has been a tapestry of creativity, service, and connection. Her journey began in the vibrant world of theater, where she worked as a professional theatrical lighting designer and stage manager. This early immersion in the arts laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for storytelling. However, her career took a new direction with marriage and motherhood, as she channeled her creative energies into songwriting and poetry while raising her four children. The fruits of her poetic pursuits include Reflections on Myself (1990), TruthTell (2000), and her most recent work, Oneness (2021).
Pusateri’s poetry is deeply informed by her dedication to humanity and the planet. A lifelong social activist, environmentalist, and philanthropist, she has used her voice to inspire change and promote compassion. Her commitment to service earned her the prestigious Impresa Award in 2003, presented by the Joint Civic
Committee of Italian-Americans in recognition of her contributions to writing and humanity. As a Life Member of the International New Thought Alliance and the coordinator of its worldwide prayer ministry, she continues to advocate for unity, spiritual growth, and environmental stewardship through both action and art.
A family of artists surrounds Pusateri, enhancing the richness of her creative endeavors. The artwork featured in her book Journey to the Light was designed by her son, Charles Anthony Pusateri, a collaboration she shares with pride. This blending of familial creativity and her own vision exemplifies her belief in interconnectedness—whether among people, within families, or across the globe. Carmeline Pusateri’s life and work stand as a testament to the power of art, compassion, and a shared commitment to the greater good.
